questions in our forum for professional cleaners to advise you.

bullet

Bird Droppings - remove excess with spoon, then use a proprietary stain remover.

bullet

Beer Stains - remove excess with a clean cloth, then sponge with warm water or soda. It is advisable to shampoo the whole carpet afterwards or you may end up with a conspicuous clean patch.

bullet

Curry - Sponge with Laundry Borax solution, then clean water, pat dry.

bullet

Lard - Lay blotting paper over him and apply a hot iron. Shampoo with a strong solution, repeat as necessary. He may return up to weeks later as he works his way up the carpet pile, in this case repeat the treatment.

Metal Polishes - Blot up as much as possible, dab with methylated spirit and leave to dry naturally. Beat with a stiff brush, then vacuum to remove residue, Shampoo if necessary.

bullet

Perspiration - Prevention is better than cure. If perspiration regularly stains the carpet apply deodorant more regularly. To remove stains sponge with ammonia and warm water. Sponging with white wine vinegar may return the natural colour of the carpet.

bullet

Alcoholic Spirits - Blot up as much as possible. Use a carpet spot remover or shampoo affected area. Dried stains may respond to methylated spirit.

bullet

Urine - Again prevention is better than cure. If urine regularly stains the carpet, find out who does it and discipline them suitably. To remove stains use cold water and antiseptic. Dried urine stains may be removed with cold water and ammonia.

bullet

Vomit - As for Urine and perspiration prevention is better than cure. Vomiting is caused by Food or alcohol excess or ilness. Sobriety and Fasting can prevent excess but prolonged periods often lead to ilness. Firstly scrape up as much deposit as possible (The offender should be forced to do this with his/her hands or mouth). Flush the area with water, then shampoo the area until clean. It is wise to mix a little antiseptic with shampoo.
